Carl Gotcher
Published December 18, 2009
Our amazing and most cherished husband, father, brother, uncle and friend Carl Gotcher lost his battle with Cholangiocarcinoma cancer on Dec. 18, 2009. While our spirits are flattened, hearts heavy, we are comforted by knowing he is with his Heavenly Father, and his loved ones who have gone before him: his father and mother, Powell and Hazel Gotcher, his sister, Norma Lee Parks, his niece Jerry Parks, nephews David Parks and Larry Booth, and brother-in-law Lyle Cranford.
How we are going to live the rest of our lives without him, his robust humor, and overwhelmingly generous heart is more than we can begin to comprehend. He is loved by all who knew him and we will forever have emptiness in our hearts until we see him again.
Carl is survived by his precious wife Helen, and his daughter, Sandy Barker, son-in-law Mike Barker, grandson Adam Barker, granddaughter Keri Barker, big sister Peggy, brothers, “Son” and “Whoopus,” who he loved more than life.
He will be missed by a lifetime worth of friends too numerous to mention.
Carl loved golfing and fishing and partying. He also enjoyed meeting and sharing life stories with everyone he met. He always told good stories and was a gentle man. He loved all women; they were all sweethearts in his eyes. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
Until we meet again — We all love you and will miss you dearly.
At Carl’s request there will not be a memorial service, however a celebration of his life is being planned this spring. An announcement will run prior to the event.
