Deann Elaine Fyock Terrell

Deann Elaine Fyock Terrell, 66, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully at Bailey-Boushay care facility, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sept. 5, 2009.
She was born June 2, 1943 in Richmond, Calif., to Dean Fyock and Elaine Fisher. As a young adult, Deann lived in the Los Angeles area where she was employed as a dental hygienist. Deann, along with her husband and children moved to the greater Whidbey Island area in 1973. A 37-year resident of Oak Harbor, she became a well known and appreciated restaurant manager.
Her love of people and her natural good nature was a gift she shared with those she cared for and everyone around her. She studied and became fluent in both writing and speaking Japanese while attending Skagit Valley College from 1985 to 1988, where she also studied visual art. She was an avid lover of the arts and literature all through her life.
Deann will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Brandon Michael Terrell. She is survived by her children, Brett Terrell, Kevin Smith, Brandy Morgan Fyrrce and Bradley Terrell; grandchildren, Jeremy Terrell, Erin Unsworth, Ashley Terrell, Scott Butler, Russell Butler, Sarah Butler, Rebecca Butler, and Jesse Anderson; and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Terrell.
A special thank you to all of you involved in Deann’s care. Your presence, support and compassion will always be remembered with gratitude.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. at City Beach (Windjammer Park), preceded by a private graveside service.
