Barbara Louise Lashua

Barbara Lashua, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born in Port Townsend on May 23, 1937, and was called to heaven on May 20, 2009, at Providence Medical Center, Everett, with her family by her side.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Ernest, of 54 years; son, Ernest Lashua Jr., and daughter-in-law Billie of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Debra Green and son-in-law Tim, of Pensacola, Fla.; son Randy Lashua and daughter-in-law Loriann of Oak Harbor; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, Kellie Addison and husband Brian, son Clayton, Jamie Maldonado, husband James, and son James, Julie Lashua, Shelbie Lashua of Corpus Christi, Kristina Salinas, husband Art, sons Alex and Ethan Kimberly Adams, husband Scott, and son Austin, daughters Brianna and Candice of Battleground, Wash., Kevin Lashua, Ryan Lange, and wife Krysten, and Kyle Lange of Oak Harbor.

Barbara was a devoted Navy wife of 22 years who enjoyed being a part of the Navy community and traveling between duty stations raising her family. Ernest and Barbara retired on Whidbey Island in 1974 where they made their family home.

Barbara’s love of gardening and watching her favorite hummingbirds. They filled her life with such joy. Her smile and humor touched all who knew her. She was truly wonderful, an angel on earth, we will miss her everyday.
