Marion Neva Marconi

Marion Marconi, 89, died at Life Care Center of Mount Vernon, April 3, 2009. She was born Dec. 23, 1919, to Harry and Hazel Watson in New Providence, Iowa.
Mrs. Marconi grew up in Elma, Wash., and attended Elma High School. She worked as an accountant, office manager, and purchasing agent for Boeing. In 1959 she moved to Kodiak, Alaska and worked as a buyer for Krafts Department Store, and owned and operated a taxi cab company with her husband. In 1975 she moved to Whidbey Island and became a real estate agent and broker.
Mrs. Marconi is survived by her daughter Sandi Leksas of Green Valley, Ariz.; son Gary Marconi and his wife Barbara of Kodiak, Alaska; one grandson, Gary Marconi, Jr.; one step-grandson, Byron Swadener; two step-granddaughters, Sharon Schwartz and Courtney Fagan; and great-grandchildren Jeanette, Jeffrey, Mason, Christopher, Renee, Prescott, Kevin and Cora. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and her husband, Victor Marconi.
Memorial services for Mrs. Marconi will be held Monday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor, officiated by Linda Haddon. A private inurnment will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances may be made to Skagit Valley Hospice or the charity of your choice.
