Leland G. Libbey

Leland G. Libbey, 65, died at Providence Medical Center, Everett, on Feb. 2, 2008, at the age of 65. Leland was born in Coupeville on Nov. 10, 1942, to Joseph and Ethel (Hancock) Libbey. Leland was raised in Coupeville. At the age of 10, he was transferred to the Rainier State School in Buckley, where he resided for the next 50 years. In 2003, Leland was transferred to an adult family home in Marysville.
Leland was a very loving person with a terrific memory. He enjoyed reading and was a friend to everyone he met.
Leland is survived by three sisters: Marilyn Bailey, Lyla Snover and Janice Coffman, all of Coupeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, Joe and Ethel Libbey and one brother, Wayne Libbey, preceded him in death.
Graveside committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, with Rev. David Engle officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
