Duane Alan Trontvet

Duane A. Trontvet was born to Joseph Duane and Alice Elaine (Wilert) Trontvet in Albert Lea, Minn., on Feb. 4, 1954, and he entered into rest with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Oct. 23, 2007, in Seattle, with his loving family at his side, following a courageous battle with cancer, entering into victory with Jesus Christ. Duane entered into marriage with Donna Rae Akers on Nov. 27, 1976, in Lynnwood, Wash. They lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for many years, relocating to Washington on Oct. 2, 1987, settling in Oak Harbor.

Duane worked as a paramedic for 17 years through Whidbey General Hospital, saving many lives through his dedicated service to the public. Duane loved the Lord and the great outdoors: Fishing, boating, photography, woodworking, “Household Handyman,” and most of all being with his family. Duane is survived by his loving family: Beloved wife and partner of 30-plus years Donna at the family home; loving father Joseph D. Trontvet of Fairbanks; beloved children Joshua Duane Trontvet and his wife Leslie of McChord A.F.B, Monika Rae Foster and her husband Matthew of Moyock, N.C., and Heather Marie Trujillo and her husband Chris of Atsugi, Japan; sister Debby Souders and her husband Rick of Fairbanks; grandchildren, Cortney, Ryley, Jacob, Jordan and Faith, and the many friends he made during his walk in this life that will all miss him dearly. Duane was predeceased by his mother Alice inn November of 1987. Funeral services will be held for Duane on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m. with viewing at 9:30 at the Church on the Rock located at 1780 SE 4th Ave. in Oak Harbor. Graveside service will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery on Regatta Drive in Oak Harbor at 11:30 a.m. the same day. Pastor Clint Webb will be officiating.

In lieu of floral tributes memorials may be made in Duane’s name to the Duane Trontvet Missionary Memorial Fund in order to further the word and love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Memorials may be sent to the Church on the Rock at the address listed in this notice. Funeral and graveside arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial and Cremation Services LLC of Mount Vernon, 1-800-905- 1322. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the church or the funeral home.
