Kenneth Michael

Kenneth W. Michael was born to James Wilbur and Elizabeth Jane (Moss) Michael on April 22, 1939, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and he entered into rest in Coupeville on Oct. 7, 2007, with his loving family at his side.

Ken served his country overseas during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy, working as an Air Controller. Ken entered into marriage with Linda L. Lawrence on Aug. 26, 1978 ,in Seattle. Ken was a friend of Bill W. for 28 years, until the time of his death. Ken’s friends knew him better as “Mr. Wonderful.” Ken worked as a Teamster through local #231 for 34 years.

He is survived by his family: loving wife and partner Linda Louise Michael at the family home; sons Kenneth Weldon Michael and his wife Emily of New Orleans, La., Joel Wallace Michael and his wife Yuka of Spokane; grandchildren Seth Weldon Michael, Alexander Walter Michael and soon to arrive Avery Allee Michael; sister Karen Michael and niece Sasja Michael-Brown, both of Vashon Island; and niece and nephews Stephenie, Jimmy, and Kenny Michael, all of Auburn.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, an older brother James, and a nephew Brian Brown. Ken had the philosophy that “Things always work out the way they are supposed to.”

Private family services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial & Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the Funeral Home.
