Beth M. Scott

Beth McMartin Scott , 94, died peacefully on Nov. 13, 2006 at Careage of Whidbey in Coupeville. Beth was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on April 5, 1912 to Malcolm and Janet McMartin, natives of Scotland.Â
Beth attended Wayne State University where she met Walter Scott. Walt and Beth married on April 4, 1942 at Ft. Warden where Captain Scott was stationed at the time. Walter died on March 29, 2005.
Beth had an exemplary career as a fifth grade teacher in Detroit where she taught for 32 years. Having traveled the world from Europe to Australia and Latin America, Beth and Walter chose Oak Harbor to be their home in 1978 when they retired from their teaching careers.Â
Although Beth never had children of her own, her nieces and nephews have been an extremely important part of her life. She exposed them to a variety of life experiences and showered them with love and affection.Â
