Beverly Carole Nye

Beverly Nye, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2006. She was born Dec. 19, 1921 in Everett to Harry and Elsie Kimball.
Beverly grew up in Everett where in 1945 she met and married Stanley Eugene Nye. In 1950 the couple moved to Whidbey Island. Their first home was a small mobile home in San de Fuca. They started many of the mobile home parks in the Oak Harbor area and eventually moved into their long-time residence on Quaker Street.
Beverly was a member of the Oak Harbor First Reformed Church. She loved to bowl, play pinochle and bridge. She was a member of the Tuesday Lunch Bunch, Oak Harbor Senior Center, and a long time member of TOPS.
Beverly is survived by her son Ronald E Nye, with his wife Kathy of Oak Harbor, along with three grandchildren: Joshua E Nye of Seattle, Jeffery R. Nye and Jenna M. Nye, both of Oak Harbor. She also leaves a sister, Darlene Gregory with husband Mervin of San Antonio, Texas and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was proceeded in death by brother Richard Kimball of Oak Harbor.
Visitation for Beverly will be held at Burley Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon followed by a graveside service and burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at The Oak Harbor First Reformed Church at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests friends may make donations to The Oak Harbor Senior Center or the First Reformed Church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
