Steven Wayne Grant

Steven Grant, 48, died suddenly at his residence in Salinas, Calif., on July 17, 2006 of complications due to diabetes. He was born May 17, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rod and Evelyn Grant.

Steven grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Skyline High School. At age 16, the family moved to Oregon where he graduated from West Linn High School in 1976. Steven served a two-year mission for his church in La Paz, Bolivia, after which he attended BYU in Provo, Utah for two years and in 1984 earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Portland State University.

In 2002 Steven went to work for Monterey County, Calif., Department of Child Support Services in the Accounting Department in Salinas. He enjoyed his work and fellow employees very much and was highly respected and liked by his associates there.

Steven is survived by his parents Rod and Evelyn Grant of Coupeville, along with brother Wesley Grant and his wife Pamela of Tualatin, Oregon, brother Vernon Grant of Coupeville, sister Joanne Dortch and her husband David of Lewiston, Idaho, 10 nephews and nieces and many cousins, aunts and uncles in Oregon, California, Washington and Canada.

Graveside services will be held for Steven at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
