Reva Jane Waldburger

Published June 5, 2006

At home, peacefully, and surrounded by her family, Reva Jane Waldburger passed away the evening of June 5, 2006. Reva had battled cancer for the past four years.

Born August 9, 1926 in Seattle, Reva was a graduate of Queen Anne High School and attended Washington State College. She married her husband of 60 years, Bob, and they have made Oak Harbor their home since arriving at NAS Whidbey in the mid-fifties. For many years, Reva was a cook for the Oak Harbor School District.

Reva was a wonderful, caring and committed wife and mother, and trusted friend to her adult children and to her grandchildren. She loved to cook, to work in her gardens and greenhouse, and any excuse for a family gathering. She loved the beach, any view over the water, the Seattle Mariners, and the sound of laughter, most of it created by her own wry and witty sense of humor.

Reva is survived by her husband Max R. (Bob) Waldburger, at home; her son, Mike (Nancy) in Yakima; her two daughters, Pat (Bill) Roberts in Coupeville and Jane Robin (Richard) Bennett in Mount Vernon; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services for Reva Jane Waldburger will take place Saturday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
