Constance Augusta Arnold was born June 7, 1915, and died May 29, 2006.

Connie Arnold, the daughter of Herman Keister and Augusta Zylstra, spent all of her 90 years living on Whidbey Island. She traveled extensively throughout the world absorbing the culture, experiencing history, and meeting new people. Her favorite destination was always Hawaii. Her vitality and zest for life made an imprint on all her family, extended family, and friends. She was adventurous, never afraid to try new things, and faced all life’s challenges with a positive attitude. Connie loved to read, do crossword puzzles with her husband Chuck, collect recipes, cook, and shop. Her garden and house were as colorful as the life she lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Bill Lang, sisters Violet Grasser and Dee Rowley; brothers, Clifford and Al Keister, her stepdaughter, Valerie Arnold; and special nephew, David Grasser. Connie and Chuck Arnold were married for 29 years and enjoyed their families and the life they shared together. She felt fortunate to have Diana Dunn, her loving daughter, and Pat, a wonderful son-in-law, of Anacortes, in her life. She was extremely proud of her two grandchildren, Tasha and Skye Dunn and relished the time she spent with them. She is also survived by her stepson, Fred Arnold and his wife, Darlene, their sons Derek and Brian and his wife Sarah, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Connie’s life will be held Monday, June 5,, at 12 noon on the south end of Fidalgo Island at the Walla Walla College Marine Station at Rosario Beach. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in her name to Northwest Kidney Centers Foundation, P. O. Box 3035, Seattle, WA 98114. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes. To share memories of Connie, please sign the online guest register at www.evanschapel.com.
