James Michael Sierman

James Michael Sierman, 60, longtime Oak Harbor resident, died at his home Sunday, May 23, 2004.

Mr. Sierman was born in Oakland, Calif., Dec. 22, 1943, to James A. Sierman and Mary E. (McGirl) Sierman. He was raised in Pendleton, Ore., where he graduated from high school. Following his graduation from high school, he entered the Navy. He was married to Virginia Rosada Chuachingo Feb. 23, 1968, in Cavite City, Philippines. They resided in Memphis, Tenn., before moving to Oak Harbor in 1971. Following his retirement from the Navy, James was employed by Ford Aerospace in Bermuda for several years before working for Boeing at Everett as an electronics technician.

James was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed working with computers and reading old westerns.

James is survived by his wife, Virginia; one son, Fernando Sierman and wife Jennifer of Friday Harbor; mother and step-father Mary and Gilbert Branstetter of Pendleton, Ore.; father James A. Sierman of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Bryan Branstetter and wife Lori and Bob Branstetter and wife Gina, all of Pendleton; two sisters, Marla Reeves of Pendleton and Nora Reymundo of Walla Walla; also, numerous extended family.

Recitation of the Rosary was Tuesday, May 25, at Burley Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be Wednesday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel.
