Louise McCracken

Louise McCracken, 86, died May 14, 2004, at Whidbey Island Manor, Oak Harbor. She was born in Greenbrier, Ark., on Oct. 14, 1917, to Taylor and Lou (Bowie) Mobbs.

Louise was raised in Arkansas. She married Elmer McCracken. Elmer served with the U. S. Army during World War II and during that time Louise worked as an aircraft rivetor for Lockhead Aircraft on the B-17 bomber. She also worked for at laundry business for a number of years.

Following the war the McCracken family moved to California and then in the early 1960, moved to Oak Harbor. Louise was a member of the Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church.

Mrs. McCracken is survived by two sons, Elmer L. McCracken and wife Penny of Oak Harbor and Owen H. McCracken of Ritzville. Eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer T. McCracken in 1976.

Private family graveside services will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery Thursday, May 20, with Pastor Robert McDougal of the Southern Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements by Burley Funeral Chapel.
