Thelma Goodlow

Thelma Lee Goodlow, 87, 35-year resident of Whidbey Island, died at Sonshine House in Coupeville Tuesday, March 16, 2004.

Mrs. Goodlow was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Henry, Ill., to Alfred Mallory and Ethel (Sisco) Mallory. She was raised in Chicago. Thelma was married to Harold Goodlow. She was employed as a clerk for a time in a variety store in Chicago. The couple moved to the San Fernando Valley, Calif., where she was employed in a cafeteria at Van Nuys High School. They moved to Coupeville in 1969. Thelma was a volunteer at Whidbey General Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, flowers and her grandkids. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Thelma is survived by her three children, Mike Goodlow of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Bob Goodlow of Hawaii and Barbara of Florida; two grandchildren, Jennifer Sherbeth and husband Ken of Lundar, Manitoba, and Sean Goodlow and wife Wendy of Winnipeg, Manitoba; also, three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah and Justin Sherbeth. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold April 21, 2003, and by a brother, Bob Mallory.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
