Eunice May Nickell

Eunice May Nickell, 80, died March 10, 2004 at Careage of Whidbey, Coupeville. She was born March 14, 1923, in Enumclaw to Fredrick and Hazel (Cade) Wallace.
Eunice was raised in Enumclaw. Following high school, she moved with her family to Anacortes and her father began work at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. Eunice soon found work at NAS in disbursing. She spent 30 years in federal civil service before retiring. She was twice married and divorced, to Walter Martin and Jim Nickell.
Following retirement, Eunice worked for Kathy Jones Accounting Service for many years as a receptionist. Eunice attended First United Methodist Church of Oak Harbor. She also bowled in the Civil Service league at Oak Bowl for many years. Eunice was an avid Mariners fan and attended spring training camp for several years.
Eunice is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Quist and her husband Edward of Oak Harbor, by one sister Dolores Garner of Buckley and two grandchildren, Eric Hannan of Oak Harbor and Kristen Hannan of Woodinville.
Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
