Dominador Fajardo Padilla

Funeral Mass for Dominador Fajardo Padilla was celebrated Feb. 23 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ronald Belisle officiating. Cremation will follow with private family burial at Valley of the Temples Cemetery, Hawaii.

Dominador Padilla, 78, died at Whidbey General Hospital Feb. 18, 2004. He was born June 14, 1925, in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, to Exequiel and Ines (Fajardo) Padilla. Mr. Padilla was raised in the Philippines and worked as a laborer. He was married to Marcela Romasanta in Alfonso, Cavite, Jan. 15, 1963.

Mr. Padilla moved to Hawaii in 1963. For many years he worked at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel, retiring in 1990. Mr. Padilla moved to Oak Harbor two years ago to be near his daughter. He enjoyed walking the malls of Honolulu and movies, especially martial arts films.

Mr. Padilla is survived by his wife Marcela and one daughter Sofia Mariano and her husband Ray, all of Oak Harbor, son Dominador F. Padilla, Jr. of Olongapo, Philippines, son Nepomuceno Padilla and wife Dorothy of Seattle and daughter Isabelita Johnson and husband Carl of Utah. Two sisters, Dolores Yuzon of San Francisco and Anita Esteban of Hawaii, as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. One brother, Enrico Padilla, preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
