Marolyn Edwards

Marolyn J. Edwards, 84, 19-year resident of Oak Harbor, died Jan. 27, 2004 at Whidbey General Hospital.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Tifton, Ga., April 25, 1919, to Elbert Youmans and Willie (Lewis) Youmans. She was raised in Georgia and graduated from high school there. Following high school graduation, she entered the United States Marine Corps. While stationed in San Diego, Calif., as a private first class, she met Master Technical Sergeant Robin R. Edwards. They were married April 27, 1944. The couple moved to a variety of duty stations through the years. They settled in Oak Harbor in 1985.
Marolyn is survived by her husband Robin, at home; one son, Roger Edwards and wife Diana of Oak Harbor; one daughter, Sue Andersen of Port Orchard; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; also, several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
