Marjorie Alice Ireland Snook

Marjorie Alice Ireland Snook, 101, died Dec. 27, 2003, at the Mathis Adult Family Home, Oak Harbor. She was born April 18, 1902, in Minneapolis to Herbert W. and Annie (Goddard) Ireland.

Marjorie was raised in Pendleton, Ore. She married Meurice Carroll Snook while attending Oregon State College in Corvallis. She was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority.

Mrs. Snook resided in Seattle, The Dalles, Albany, Portland and Beaverton, Ore. before moving to Oak Harbor in 1997 to be near her son and daughter-in-law. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonging to several bridge groups in Oregon.

One son and daughter-in-law, James and Janet Snook of Oak Harbor survive Mrs. Snook. Eight grandchildren, James D. “Jay” Snook of Clarkston; Jeffrey Snook of Palouse; Joseph Snook of Poulsbo; Jennifer Laws of Spokane; Lisa Young of Eugene, Ore.; William H. Snook of Lake Oswego, Ore.; Marcia Snook-Cunningham of Salem, Ore.; and Timothy Snook of Vancouver and 13 great grandchildren also survive. Her husband, Meurice Snook and one son Dr. William M. Snook preceded her in death.

Mrs. Snook requested no formal funeral services be conducted. Cremation was held with inurnment to follow at River View Abbey, Portland, Ore.
