Harry A. Fowells

Dr. Harry A. Fowells died Dec. 20, 2003, at Whidbey General Hospital. He was born July 5, 1908 in Portland, Ore., to Frank and Amber Fowells. In 1953 Dr. Fowells earned his doctorate and was transferred to Washington, D.C., working with the US Forest Service. He retired to Oak Harbor in 1975 where he was a member of Whidbey Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Fowells is survived by his wife, Winifred; son, Dr. William Fowells of Washougal, Betty (Richard) Britt of Cypress, Calif., and James (Patricia) Fowells of Bend, Ore.; five grandchildren, Monika, John, Linda, Cathy and Julie; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Tyler.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Burley Funeral Chapel.
