Marilyn Naomi Visser

Marilyn Naomi Visser, 66, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at her residence in Roosevelt, Minn. She was born April 25, 1937, in Willmar, Minn., to Astrid (Dahlgren) and Rudolph Anderson. She was raised in Alexandria and graduated from high school in Evansville, Minn. Marilyn and Herman Visser were married Aug. 8, 1959, in Seattle.
Marilyn was an avid reader, exceptional seamstress and enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She really enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren’s extra curricular activities. She was an active member of Warroad Baptist Church in Minnesota, and enjoyed being an active part of the missions programs of the church. She loved the Lord and was a part of a number of ministries within Warroad Baptist Church.
For 32 years Marilyn and her husband, Herman, were active in funeral service. They owned and operated Visser Funeral Home in Langley. Marilyn and Herman moved to Roosevelt, Minn., April 24, 1996, and have made their home there since that time.
She is survived by her husband, Herman of Roosevelt, Minn.; children Darla and husband Gerald Hitner of Roosevelt, Minn., and Denise and husband Jon Grussing of Roosevelt, Minn.; grandchildren, Davey and Jamie Forney of Roosevelt, Chad, Christapher and Clint Quibodeaux of Roosevelt, Minn., Kyle, Ashley and Amy Hitner of Warroad, Minn.; brother Merrill and wife Connie Anderson of Whitefish, Mont.; niece Mellete Anderson of Bismarck, N.D., and nephews, Mark and Marty Anderson of Whitefish, Mont.; cousins Eileen Carlquist, Tassie Satterlie, Yvonne Holte, and Buddy and wife Ruth Anderson, all of Alexandria, Minn. She is also survived by special friends, John and wife Tamara Quibodeaux of Roosevelt, Minn.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Astrid, and her stepmother, Teckla Anderson.
Funeral services for Marilyn Naomi Visser will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at Warroad Baptist Church in Warroad. Visitation is one hour prior to service at the church. A devotional service was held Friday, Dec. 12, at Warroad Baptist Church. Arrangements by Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Warroad, Minn.
