Robert Healow

Robert J. Healow died Dec. 8, 2003. He was born the only child of Gordon and Myrtle Healow in Denver, Colo., May 11, 1928. After relocating to several cities throughout the U.S. he graduated from Columbia Prep in Portland, Ore., in 1946.

Robert served duty in the Korean War as an Army sergeant in the 1st Cavalry. After the war, he attended Chouinard Art Center in Los Angeles. He married Louise Benoit Dec. 27, 1952. They moved to Bellevue in 1956 where they lived 34 years raising three sons. Robert worked for Boeing serving in many roles from artist to executive retiring in 1990. He was also a member of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters.

During the retirement years they moved to Oak Harbor to be near the water he loved to sail. Robert was a very proud grandfather to Lisa, Nick, Lori, Dylan, Stephanie, and Branik and is survived by his wife Louise, sons Mike, Jim, and Brian; daughters in law Susan and Diane. Funeral services were Dec. 12 in Kirkland.
