Margaret Fisher

Margarita (Margaret) Brown Fisher, 79, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Oak Harbor, died Oct. 29, 2003, following a brief illness.

She was born March 24, 1924, in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of Manuel and Maura Quijas. Margarita graduated from San Diego University with a social services degree. She married Bruce D. Brown in 1955 in San Diego. He preceded her in death in 2000. Margarita had been a resident of Oak Harbor since 1972 until her illness. Margarita was an office manager for Petrolane until her retirement.

She is survived by her son, Bruce C. Brown of Renton; three daughters, Donna Fanning of Oak Harbor, Diane Weaver of Mount Vernon and Dawn Brown of Mount Vernon; 9 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Betsy, Rosie and Mary.

There will be a gathering for family and friends at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Oak Manor Hall in Oak Harbor, 640 SE 8th Avenue, Oak Harbor.
