Ruth M. Turner

Ruth M. Turner, 82, died in Oak Harbor Oct. 7, 2003. She was born in Dunsmuir, Calif., to William and Nellie Loy on April 1, 1923. Ruth and her husband, Harold, moved to Oak Harbor in 1972. She had worked as a clerk with the state of California. Ruth was active in her community as a dog breeder (hounds and terriers), Whidbey Animals Improvement Foundation (WAIF), Friends of the Library and NAS Whidbey Flying Club from 1985-1990. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Harold. She is survived by her many friends. Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m., in Burley Funeral Home Chapel. Remembrances are suggested to WAIF.
