Marie Lorraine Dragavon

After a lingering illness, Marie Lorraine Dragavon, 84, of Ferndale and Anacortes, died July 15, 2003, amidst a number of her children and grandchildren.
She was born July 14, 1919, in Fort Casey, the daughter of Frank and Ula Thesenvitz. Marie will be remembered as a strong person, fair and open to all that she met, as attested by the beach people of Cherry Point to whom she opened her home and with whom she shared her facilities. She was warm, funny, kind, and bright and will truly be missed.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Anthony Dragavon. She is survived by her four daughters, Diane Kirkpatrick and Patricia Solt, both of Oak Harbor, Lorraine Dragavon of Fairfax, Va., and Lynne Cook of Auburn; three sons, John Dragavon of Snohomish, David Dragavon of Milwaukie, Ore., and Kris Dragavon of Goodletsville, Tenn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Velda Devereaux of Ferndale; one brother James Thesenvitz of Montesano; two sisters-in-law, Marianne and Phyllis Thesenvitz, several cousins and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at Evans Funeral Chapel, 1105 32nd Street, Anacortes.
