Wolves rally for win / Tennis

Tiger Johnson and Jaschon Baumann rallied for a win in third doubles to lift the Coupeville High School tennis team to a 3-2 victory at Bear Creek Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The Wolves also beat the Grizzlies 3-2 early this season and raised their record to 6-4 (7-4 overall).

With the team score tied at 2-2, Johnson and Baumann dropped the first set in their doubles match 6-2, then came back to claim the second 7-5. Down 7-4 in the third-set tie-breaker, the Coupeville duo scored six straight points to win 10-7.

The Wolves play Bush at home at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in their third match in three days.

Singles: 1, Jakobi Baumann lost 6-7(7-3), 6-2, 10-5; 2, Drake Borden won 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles: 1, Mason Grove/James Wood won 3-6, 6-3, 10-2; 2, Zach Ginnings/Jacob Burke lost 6-0, 7-5; 3, Tiger Johnson/Jaschon Baumann won 2-6, 7-5, 10-7.
