Wolves overwhelm Friday Harbor, Lopez / Track

It was a rarity, the Coupeville High School track team competing against teams from a lower classification — and the results were as expected.

The 1A Wolves swamped 2B Friday Harbor and 1B Lopez Monday, April 23, on the Coupeville oval.

The Coupeville girls won every event and piled up 212 points; Friday Harbor scored 28 and Lopez 20.

The Wolves captured 11 of the 15 boys events, good for 176 points to 60 for Friday Harbor and 42 for Lopez.

Coupeville will join Sequim and Port Townsend at Port Angeles for 3:15 p.m. meet Thursday, April 26.

It was also announced this week that the Olympic League 1A championships will take place in Coupeville at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4.
