Wolves get into win column / Tennis

The Coupeville High School tennis team dominated doubles play in a 4-3 win over visiting Granite Falls Tuesday, March 27.

The Wolves swept all four doubles matches to pick up their first team victory of the season.

The key match came in fourth doubles where Jillian Mayne and Zara Bradley eked out a 6-3, 2-6, 10-1 win to secure the match for Coupeville.

The other duos of Payton Aparicio/Sage Renninger (6-1, 6-1), Avalon Renninger/Tia Wurzrainer (6-0, 6-2) and Maggie Crimmins/Kameryn St. Onge (6-3, 6-4) won in straight sets.

Coupeville dropped the three singles matches: Claire Mietus lost 6-0, 6-1; Genna Wright lost 6-1, 6-2; and Heather Nastali lost 7-5, 6-2.

Coupeville (1-4) does not play again until unbeaten North Kitsap (5-0) visits at 3:15 p.m. Monday, April 9.
