Wolves fall at PA / Soccer

Port Angeles was able overcome an early goal by the Coupeville High School soccer team to beat the visiting Wolves 7-2 Tuesday, April 10.

After Coupeville’s Derek Leyva scored, the Roughriders (7-2-1) responded by rolling to a 4-1 halftime lead.

“We were able to hold for a while, but unfortunately they were able to get through our defense,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said.

James Wood tallied for the Wolves in the second half.

Coupeville (3-1, 4-4-2) faces Olympic League leaders Klahowya (4-0, 6-2-1) at 4 p.m. Monday, April 16, in Silverdale in a match that will go a long way in determining the conference 1A champions.
