Wolves earn easy win over Friday Harbor / Tennis

Winning every set, the Coupeville High School tennis team blanked visiting Friday Harbor 5-0 in a non-league match Wednesday, April 18.

The Wolves’ match at Klahowya Tuesday was halted because of rain with the score tied at 2-2. The teams will complete the contest when Coupeville returns to Silverdale April 26.

The win over Friday Harbor was the Wolves’ third straight and after winning just one of their first six.

Coupeville (4-5) plays a non-conference match at Olympic (4-5) at 4 p.m. Friday, April 20.

Singles: 1, Claire Mietus won 6-2, 6-4; 2, Genna Wright won 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles: 1, Avalon Renninger/Tia Wurzrainer won 6-0, 6-2; 2, Maggie Crimmins/Kameryn St. Onge won 6-2, 7-7(7-5); 3, Zara Bradley/Jillian Mayne won 6-0, 6-3.
