The Oak Harbor High School wrestling team placed fifth out of nine teams at the Jack Reynolds Tournament of Excellence in Issaquah Saturday, Jan. 14.

Thursday, Jan. 12, the 17th-ranked Wildcats lost at seventh-ranked Arlington 52-17 in Wesco action.

At the Reynolds Tournament, six Wildcats placed, topped by Sam Zook’s title in the 285-pound class. It was Zook’s fifth win in five tournaments this season.

Sidney Thomas (106) and Nick Dugin (182) finished second, Blake McBride (138) was third and Lucas Nickelson (132) and John Purcell (285) took fourth.

In the Arlington match, Zook was the only Wildcat to record a fall, pinning his opponent at the 5:27 mark.

Caleb Fitzgerald (120, 17-4) and McBride (138, 11-1) each collected lopsided wins, and Abe Coleman (220) squeaked out a 7-6 decision.

Oak Harbor (0-4, 2-5) hosts Marysville Getchell (0-2, 1-5) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19.
