Wildcats slip past M-P / Tennis

Buoyed by its singles lineup, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team won 4-3 at Marysville-Pilchuck Friday, April 20.

With the win, the Wildcats (2-4, 3-7) moved into a tie for fourth place in the Wesco North with M-P (2-4, 3-6).

The victory also broke a four-matching losing for Oak Harbor.

Oak Harbor swept the four singles matches. Winning along with Salinger were Emma Wezeman (6-1, 6-2), Sierra Brackeen (6-3, 6-3) and Johanna Schmidt (6-4, 7-6[8]).

The Wildcats lost all three doubles matches: Monique Stolmeier/Silvia Braghin lost 6-1, 6-2; Baelee Whitinger/Olivia Lerch lost 6-2, 6-2; and Kayli Benedetto/Tara Sullivan lost 6-4, 8-6.
