Wildcats shoot season-best score / Girls golf

The Oak Harbor High School girls golf team carded its best score of the season but still fell 499-606 to Snohomish Thursday, April 26, at the Whidbey Golf Club.

The Wildcats’ 606 was 22 strokes lower than their previous best score.

“Hannah (Rogers) had a great back nine, posting a 55,” coach Andy Wesley said. “The girls are improving and are working hard to achieve their goals.”

Beth Paul topped the Wildcats with a 116 on the par-72 course. Natasha Decker shot 117, Jenna Flores 119, Rogers 121, Danalin Matro 133 and Makenna Ronning 141.

The Panthers’ Vreni Todd was medalist with an 84.

Oak Harbor will compete at Glacier Peak’s BQ Invitational at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 2.
