Wildcats score early, Royals score often / Softball

After a good start, things went down hill for the Oak Harbor High School softball team in a 15-1 five-inning loss at Lynnwood Tuesday, April 10.

The Wildcats scored in the top of the first inning on hits by Miranda Wilson and Rylee Joseph. From there, Oak Harbor was shut down by Royal pitcher Mayda Rieflin, who gave up only one more hit, a fourth-inning single by Cierra LeGendre.

Lynnwood (2-3, 2-8) quickly countered Oak Harbor’s early run by scoring twice in the bottom of the first and four times in the second. A nine-run fourth cemented the win.

Oak Harbor (1-7, 1-9) goes to Mountlake Terrace (3-4, 4-6) at 4 p.m. Friday, April 13.
