Wildcats lose final regular season match / Wrestling

The Oak Harbor High School wrestling team wrapped up the regular season with a 44-31 loss to visiting Stanwood Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The Spartans (1-4, 2-8), who picked up their first Wesco North win with the victory, won all but three matches that were contested.

Five bouts were forfeited, three by Stanwood.

Oak Harbor winners where Jamal Graham (106 pounds), 6-4 in overtime; Blake McBride (145) with a fall in 1:32; and Ethan Pace (170), 11-2.

Blake Servatius (113), Jakob Dailey (120) and Caleb Fitzgerald (126) won by forfeit.

The Wildcats now turn their attention to the postseason.

The boys compete at the sub-regional tournament at Stanwood at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. The top six finishers in each weight class advance to the regional tournament at Edmonds-Woodway High School Feb. 9 and 10.

The girls sub-regional tournament is 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Bellingham High School. The top four in each class move on to the regional meet at Sedro-Woolley Feb. 10.
