Wildcats finish fifth again / Boys golf

The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team recorded its third straight fifth-place finish in conference matches in the latest Wesco North contest Monday, April 24, at Arlington’s Eaglemount Golf Course.

The Wildcats were just one stroke from fourth place, which would have been Oak Harbor’s best finish of 2017.

Everett won with 408 strokes, followed by Marysville-Pilchuck (423), Arlington (428), Snohomish (439), Oak Harbor (440), Stanwood (446) and Marysville Getchell (516).

Haven Brown shot a five-over 77 to pace Oak Harbor, good for third out of 39 golfers.

Nick Whitley carded an 82, Nick Krantz 84, Nate Thompson 87 and Matthew Boyd 110.

Austin Duffy of Everett led the field with a 67.

Oak Harbor hosts the next Wesco North match at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Whidbey Golf Club.
