Wildcats fall in season-opening meet / Swim and dive

The Oak Harbor High School swim and dive team dropped all three ends of a triple meet at the Snohomish Aquatic Center Tuesday, Dec. 12.

The Wildcats lost to Snohomish 124-57, Glacier Peak 128-40 and Archbishop Murphy 91-61.

The meet was the season opener for Oak Harbor. Two earlier scheduled contests were postponed so the inexperienced Wildcat team could get more training time.

Micah Franklin paced Oak Harbor by taking third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.74) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:10.55).

Franklin also finished fourth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:47.33) with Lawrence Zapanta, Aaron Martinez and Ryan Quiros.

The Wildcats’ next meet, the home opener, isn’t until 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3 with Monroe (0-1).
