Whidbey team takes 11th in national tournament / Soccer

A group of local soccer players finished 11th in the national 3v3 tournament held at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando last weekend.

The team, the Whidbey Mussel, included George Bundy, Kevin Flavin, Chris Laymen, Bennett Richter, Ben Rusch and Greg Wolfe.

The Whidbey Mussel qualified for the national tournament by winning its division in the Rock On! 3v3 Tournament in Oak Harbor Memorial Day weekend.

In Orlando, the Whidbey Mussel went 1-1-1 the first day and dropped its final group game on day two. It also fell in the quarterfinals.
