Tigers top Wolves twice / Tennis

Granite Falls doubled down on the Coupeville High School tennis team, beating the visiting Wolves 3-2 twice Thursday, May 2.

The two teams completed a match that was suspended because of rain April 16 and then began a new contest.

Coupeville finished the regular season with a 2-7 record, 2-6 in league.

The Wolves return to Granite Falls to play in the North Sound Conference/District 1 Tournament at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, and 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8.

Granite Falls 3, Coupeville 2 (first match)

Singles: 1, Genna Wright lost 6-0, 6-1; 2, Jillian Mayne lost 6-2, 6-2.

Doubles: 1, Avalon Renninger/Tia Wurzrainer won 6-1, 6-2; 2, Eryn Wood/Emily Fielder lost 6-2, 4-6, 10-7; 3, Abby Mulholland/Jaimee Masters won (score not reported).
