Three Flyers win state titles / Tumbling and trampoline

The Island Flyers produced three champions and two runners up at the state tumbling and trampoline championships April 8 in Maple Valley.

The Flyers, based out of Oak Harbor’s Leaps and Bounces Dance and Tumbling Center, had six athletes place sixth or higher.

Sakura Hogan, competing in the 9- and 10-year-old division, won two state titles (Level 5 tumbling and Level 4 trampoline) and finished third in double mini.

Amya Martin, 11/12, took the state title in Level 4 trampoline. She also placed third in Level 5 tumbling and sixth in Level 5 double mini.

Cassidy Gore, 13/14, was the state champion in Level 5 tumbling, and added a fifth in Level 5 trampoline and a sixth in Level 5 double mini.

Kaitlyn Rozycki, 9/10, grabbed two seconds (Level 5 tumbling and Level 4 trampoline) and a sixth (Level 5 double mini).

Harmony Wertz, 11/12, was second in Level 5 trampoline and third in Level 6 tumbling and Level 6 double mini.

Caterina Ocanas, 13/14, took sixth in Level 5 trampoline and was ninth in two other events (Level 5 tumbling and Level 5 double mini).
