Terrace tops Oak Harbor / Baseball

Unable to keep up the momentum after winning two games earlier in the week, the Oak Harbor High School baseball team lost 11-0 in six innings at Mountlake Terrace Friday, April 20.

The Hawks (9-5, 11-6) broke open a 1-0 game with four runs in the fifth inning and then tacked on six more (all unearned) in the sixth to ice the contest.

For Oak Harbor, it was too much Kendall Yackley. Yackley hit a grand slam in the fifth and three-run homer in the sixth. He also drove in Terrace’s run in the first inning and finished the day with three hits and eight RBI.

If that wasn’t enough, Yackley pitched a two-hitter with three strike outs and no walks.

Caleb Fitzgerald and Chase Ogden both singled for Oak Harbor.

The Wildcats (3-12, 3-13) play at Snohomish (8-5, 9-6) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.
