The Oak Harbor High School football team dropped its final divisional game 56-21 to Squalicum at Bellngham’s Civic Stadium Saturday, Oct 26.

The Wildcats (0-6, 1-7) finished seventh in the Wesco North and will play the Wesco South’s seventh-place team, Everett (0-6, 0-8), in a crossover game at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Squalicum (4-2, 6-2) finished in a three-way tie for second in the Wesco North with the win and will be the North’s No. 2 seed in the crossover games based on tie-breakers.

The Storm blitzed Oak Harbor early, racing to a 35-14 halftime lead.

The offensive highlight for the Wildcats was Caden Lecklelt’s 75-yard halfback pass to Will Rankin.

Rankin also caught a TD pass from Kaito White, who finished 11-for-17 for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Matt Kelley had four catches for 45 yards and a score.

Five different Wildcats threw passes in the game, going 14-for-26 for 177 yards and three interceptions.

Jake Mitten kicked all three Oak Harbor extra points.
