Steckman, Wilson win summer series / Sailing

Dave Steckman, skipper of Renaissance, and Allan Wilson, skipper of Toto, were the overall winners of the Oak Harbor Yacht Club Summer Sailing Series which concluded Thursday, Aug. 30.

Steckman finished on top of the Flying Sails Fleet, while Wilson won the Windseeker Fleet title.

Finishing second in the Flying Sails Fleet was Chad Holcomb (Yeah Dogg), followed by Jim McAlpine (Lucky Jim), Shannon Buys (Vertigo), Steve Hucke (Separator), Rex Dupuis (Gadzooks), Larry Munns (Pearl Jem) and Rick Almberg (Slingshot).

Trailing Wilson in the Windseeker division were Jason Polly (Lemonade), Jim Wagner (Karen Marie), Bill Weinsheimer (Excitement) and Dale Henderson (Thrift Shop).

Race 2: 1, Holcomb; 2, McAlpine; 3, Buys; 4, Steckman; 5, Dupuis; 6, Hucke; 7, Munns.
