Sequim clips Coupeville on court / Tennis

Sequim squeaked by the host Coupeville High School girls tennis team 4-3 Thursday, March 17.

Coupeville, playing without two of its varsity starters, won the top singles match and the first and second doubles contests but couldn’t match Sequim’s depth.

Valen Trujillo dominated first singles, 6-0, 6-1.

In first doubles, Sage Renninger and Payton Aparicio won 6-1, 7-6(7-2). Zoe Trujillo and Avalon Renninger were 6-4, 7-5 winners in second doubles.

Coupeville (0-2) begins Olympic League play at home with Klahowya (0-1) at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, March 23.
