Seahawks stop Wildcats / Tennis

Anacortes defeated the visiting Oak Harbor High School tennis team 5-2 Thursday, Sept. 7.

Both teams now have 1-1 records after the first two matches of the season.

Oak Harbor plays another non-league match this week, hosting Mount Vernon (0-1) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8.

Anacortes 5, Oak Harbor 2

Singles: 1, Nathanael Thompson lost 6-0, 6-2; 2, John Bird lost 6-4, 6-0; 3, Claude Thrailkill lost 3-6, 6-4, 6-4; 4, Ryan Mene won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Doubles: 1, Trenton Cone/Jhaylan Munger lost 6-3, 6-1; 2, Ridgely Briddell/Sam Peek lost 6-4, 6-4; 3, Edison Soliman/Nick Krantz won 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3.
