Seagulls sink Oak Harbor in league opener / Tennis

In a contest of one-sided sets, the Everett High School tennis team defeated Oak Harbor 6-1 Friday, March 23, in the Wesco North opener on the Wildcats’ courts.

Emily Gouge and Taliah Black claimed Oak Harbor’s point with a 6-3, 6-2 win in third doubles.

The Seagulls upped their season record to 4-0.

The Wildcats (0-1, 1-3) drive to Snohomish (0-0, 3-0) for a 3:30 p.m. match Tuesday, March 27.

Singles: 1, Emma Wezeman lost 6-0, 6-0; 2, MJ Timm lost 6-1, 6-1; 3, Sierra Brackeen lost 6-4, 6-3; 4, Annie Salinger lost 6-1, 6-3.

Doubles: 1, Shaina Aguirre/Danielle Lonborg lost 6-1, 6-2; 2, Katrina Martinez/Johanna Schmidt lost 6-0, 6-1.
