Scots overwhelm Wildcats / Girls basketball

The Shorecrest High School girls basketball team played outstanding ball at both ends of the court for a 64-16 home win over Oak Harbor Friday, Jan. 13.

The Scots scored in double figures in every quarter while limited the Wildcats to single points in each to record the lopsided win.

Shorecrest (6-0, 9-4), last year’s 2A state champion, moved into first place in the Western Conference with the win.

Oak Harbor (0-6, 3-11) remains winless in league action.

The Scots led 17-2, 33-7 and 50-13 at the quarter breaks.

Bryn Langrock scored half of Oak Harbor’s points, finishing with 8. Samantha Hines had 3, Jordan Wood-Pina 2, Aelizah Espiritu 2 and Julie Jansen 1.

Ten Scots scored, three in double figures, led by Kira Wood with 18.

Oak Harbor plays at Edmonds-Woodway (3-3, 9-5) at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18.
