Whidbey Island’s Sue Sapp and Jessi Shaffer teamed-up to win the White Horse Golf Club Women’s Team Scramble June 6 in Kingston, earning the right to take part in the pro-am event June 8.

After posting the low net score out of 100 teams in the scramble, Sapp and Shaffer joined pro Brandie Burton and the winners of the low-gross amateur event, two 12-year-olds, in the pro-am portion of the week’s festivities.

Burton went on to place 16th in the professional event, the LPGA Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup June 9 and 10.
