Lecya Santiago of the North Whidbey Aquatics Club has been invited to attend the 2017 Northwest Diversity and Inclusion Select Camp May 19 and 20 in Portland.

Santiago, 12, is one of only 52 out of 3,200 swimmers in the 11-14 age group of Pacific Northwest Swimming to be invited to take part in the camp.

She was selected for her “high level of competitive performance accomplished while representing an underrepresented population in the sport of swimming,” according to letter from the PNS D&I committee.
