Sabertooth Shooting Squad takes 3rd at regional competition / Shooting

Teams representing Oak Harbor’s Sabertooth Shooting Squad finished third and 10th at the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s Regional Championship April 4-6 at the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah.

Sabertooth’s precision air rifle team placed third and the sporter team collected 10th in the 17-state competition.

“(I am) exceedingly proud of everyone involved in this huge success,” coach Dave Goodman said.

The top individual finish was posted by Lauren Crossley, who placed fourth out of 86 in precision. She was followed by Cheyenne Maggard, 16th; Alexis Kunze, 20th; James Hart, 22nd; Anna Jones, 48th; and Rylan Quiros, 58th.

Ivan Snyder led the sporter unit by taking 33rd out of 85. Joshua Odeneal was 38th, Kris Lohmann, 44th; Meagan Kunze, 61st; and Trevor Westman, 62nd.
